Two more pages to my canvas journal and another whopper for my 14 x 20 altered cookbook....

 Two works in progress......

My canvas journal....  is incorporate pieces of a lovely brown paper bag that my Stabilo pencils came in....yummy, sewing patter paper and cheese cloth.  Got to love texture!!!

My second page was inspired by an article on Newfoundland artists in a Saltscapes magazine that my mom gave me the other day.  Again, I used the two papers as underpants instead of book text and used some small strips of the sewing pattern paper to fade the edges of the magazine paper into the background.  I just love the wooden duck.  I have a larger picture of it to use in my giant altered cookbook later in the week.

My #2 altered book - I was having so much fun with the various textures of papers and the cheese cloth that I proceeded to my huge blank canvas that I covered with Women's Day underpants from another magazine donated to the cause by mother.

This process terrified me for a bit as I didn't feel I had enough to cover my pages.....but I could hear LorriMarie Jenkins' voice at the back of my brain saying "Let the peace speak to you.  It will tell you where it needs energy."  Once I stopped trying so hard, it all came together.  I LOVE LOVE the colors, the texture and the subject matter.  I have called it "When Pig's Fly."  Did you see the little piggie in the picture?  He's there.

I have also added close up of sections of the layout to show you it's yummy textures.  I especially love the texture that was created by the waxy brown paper bag.  I must keep an eye out for more of those lovelies.  I think my handsome hubby thinks I have gone a bit loopy when he hears me ooh and ahh as I mod podge things to the page.  It's such a delightful process.

Enjoy the close ups.

I just love my "Goat-headed Scholar"  who is busy taking notes about what he is observing "Far away, on the other side of the world."

A lovely close up of the various papers and textures they created on the magazine underpants.

Across the center of the two pages.  Lots going on to catch your eye.

More texture and shading.  I love the colors of the moth.

And our couple and their friend from the other side of the world......the world of Cirque de Soleil.

LOVE IT.    LOVE IT!!!!
