Original spread when I started to paint it out...from last blog.
I enhanced the butterflies and added a bird. Nice.
The ad pages at the back of the second magazine are presenting quite the challenge as there is not much to work with. So, this one I painted everything out with the exception of the interesting looking lady on the top of the right hand page and the clock on the bottom of the left. The original clock did not have the propeller blade, wing or machine cogs. They were taken from other pages that were saved as ephemera. The picture of the man, as well as the stand, were pieces from other parts of the magazine which I salvaged. And of course, I pulled it all together with bits of paper with writing on it and sew pattern paper. I am hooked on that stuff......must get more.
The second magazine does not have an abundance of interesting images to work with and for one reason or another much of the edition is dedicated to the "lust for rust". A bit is nice, but it is extremely hard to work around an entire section of the magazine of that color. I did my best and came up with a rust sepia spread. Again, my go to solution was the sewing patter paper. Great stuff. The final result is OK, but not my favorite by a long shot.
Speaking of favorites, this gal....or should I say the original rendering of this young lady, is one of my favorites to play with. For this spread I created another half page fold over. I painted out the picture on the left hand page and envisage that spot saved for journalling....if one journalled that is. My version of the young lady depicts that of an ordinary, less attractive gal whom when you look deeper is a beautiful lady inside. The page reminds us to "Believe in yourself".
And there's the lovely lady.......
Just beneath the surface......
Bright eyed and lovely in her own way.
And my last page for the day.....
I had a bit of a play with texture paste and some water colors......Sorry for the crooked picture.....if I do something else with this spread I promise I will take a better snap.
So long for now. Hope everyone is having a lovely Good Friday and a Happy Easter.
