My first attempt at a "shaker window" was not very successful.  The small beads and paper confetti just finds their way into little nooks and crannies and get them selves stuck. 
Better luck next time.

"War Horse"
..it was a bit difficult to work around the texture paste, but I am happy with the results.  Had to add a bit where the horses' left leg was a bit wonky. I covered the entire page with a gel coat and it seems to have toned down the color. 
I hope it darkens and becomes richer as it dries. 

Well, all and all it has been a very success few "art days." 
The Middle School Exploratory that prompted this "Altered Book" adventure was a success.  The students seemed to enjoy the messy activity.  I will offer some noon hour sessions to show the kids how to shade and or stain their creations. 

Next exploratory will be covering and burnishing their book covers.  That should be fun.

For me, there are two more spreads left in this book....
I am sure they will be completed by Sunday evening. 
And will there be an "Altered Book #2? 
I think there will.
