This group is dedicated to creating and sharing their art work via journal pages on a weekly basis....hence the 52.....52 weeks a year.
Chelle Stein leads/hosts this artistic journey via her blog of the same name as well as Twitter and Facebook feeds.
I followed the group last year and decided to give it a try myself. I hope that I can make the time each week to create a little something. I so enjoyed playing this week.
This journal was created using discarded library books from my school. The collection of 1920's graphics were from one particular volume of the 16 volume set provided to me by our lovely librarian. Many of the other volumes were used during an Art Exploratory session I lead for 15 Middle School students. They dismantled, embellished, rebound and created artwork of their own during the three 3 hour session we had together in the fall. I love re-purposing books and giving new life to their contents. It will be interesting to see how this journal finishes up this time next year.
This is what I have come up with so far..................

I continued to play over the weekend and made the first prompt into a two page spread.
I think I will make all my entries a two page spread. I think it is more appealing to the eye.

ReplyDeleteWelcome to Journal 52! I did it last year and am continuing with it this year...it's very fun, and everybody is so nice! Chelle comes up with interesting prompts that make me go out of my artistic comfort zone, which is always a good thing! I love the front cover of your journal, and your week one page too. That quote is fantastic! <3<3<3
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Sweet Red Clover. I had fun participating this week and look forward to what Chelle has for a prompt next week. I will keep a watch out for your creations too. Enjoy our artistic journey.
