Progressing slowly.......risers and side panels have been primed and two coats of cream coloured paint applied. Ian also gave the newel post a quick sanding in preparation for the varnish. For such a small room, there seems to be an incredible amount of prep work and precision painting.......not the best situation for this "immediate gratification girl! "
More sanding and stripping to come today once I return from my Saturday morning Weight Watchers meeting with Bev.

Ian is attempting to make the newel post and railing a bit daintier by painting some of the wood. This is what primer looks like. So we will have to decide if we like the look of it or will we end up taking it all off again. |

I stripped the door frame.....it was much easier than I though. We are using a non-toxic stripper gel. Smells like a dirty diaper pail.....LOL but it works. I will have to make it my goal to have all the remaining wood stripped and sanded before Ian returns for his trip to Denver on the 4th. I may even risk varnishing it all too......
